14 Things I want to Do in 2014

If there’s one thing that 2013 has taught me, that is to be a stronger version of myself. It has been a year of extremes but through it all we continue to stand tall, proud of our strength and moved by our faith. As we open a new year in calendars, may we continue to hope for the best in us and strive harder for better days.  Hence, 14 Things I want to Do in 2014:

1.)    Get rid of baggage and start fresh.

2.)    Buy at least one MAC lippie.  

3.)    Finish a good book.

4.)    Work out or at least be healthy.

5.)    Save save save.

6.)    Love unconditionally.

7.)    Grow my hair long

8.)    Get out of my comfort zone; Conquer fear

9.)    Watch a live concert of a favorite band or artist.

10.) Excel in my work.

11.) Avoid negative thoughts and negative people.

12.) Learn to forgive and avoid holding grudges.

13.) Have a stronger faith in God.

14.) TRAVEL. Work harder so I can travel more <3

Foodie Wannabe

This is my first attempt to do a food blog, so no judging. HAHAHA!! :)

Sunday for us means family bonding over good food.  Our latest foodie adventure happened at the newest Filipino-Hispano restaurant in the metro named Corazon.

Their themed interiors will definitely catch your attention. It took us a while to finally order since the menu offered a sumptuous dishes with a Filipino-Spanish twist.

This is my sister's favorite - - Mejillones, bakes mussels with garlic and cheese on top of rock salt. 

Paella Valenciana. I think this is one of their bestsellers. It is a plate of prawns, squids, mussels, fish, chicken, chorizo, pork strips, eggs and veggies mixed with al dente-textured rice. We also ordered Seafood tinola, Castellano (Crispy Pata) and Beef Salpicao.

Overall assessment: We can attest that it is a home of great selection of foods and the waiting time didn't take long plus the service is good. For the price it was a bit expensive because our bill reached 3k but we're all satisfied.

Heartbreak warfare

Just because I still have the UAAP hangover and I just can't get over on what happened yesterday. Honestly, I don't know anything about basketball, it is not in line with my interest, but one thing's for sure I do have school spirit. Unfortunately, I had work yesterday so I did not get the chance to watch the game, I was just monitoring it through live scoring and of course Twitter but despite that I still felt the stress and excitement of the game. Literally, my heart was beating faster than the usual. The game ended with La Salle as the Champion and just like that my heart was crushed. I felt like crying, I just had to stop myself because I was in the office. The whole Thomasian community was grieving and it was a sad night for the Thomasians. I slept with a heavy heart that night. And just today, I watched the replay of the game. What a torture right, but I just had to. This time I was not able to control my tears especially when I saw Jeric Teng cry; it was really heartbreaking. Althought I felt no bitterness from La Salle team especially when I saw the video of Lasallians cheering for UST :) This time I am starting to move on, heal and understand. Win or lose I will always be a proud Thomasian. Battle well fought, Tigers. We are still proud of you. GoUSTe! :) :)

Relationship 101

In every relationship, there is always that one person who loves more than the other. I can say that it is almost impossible to find the perfect love wherein both people love each other perfectly the same.  As an individual, we all love differently. We have different views on showing affection to others. Some are more sacrificing, more protective and more expressive. We all have our fair share of thoughts on how do we quantify love. Luckily, I found a boyfraan who loves me more than himself and even more than his family. To my clingy Jeddy, thank you for always being patient and for tolerating my crazy mood swings and my tantrums :-)

The Road not Taken

I can still remember the poem back in our Literature class in high school, which was by the way one of my favorite subjects back then. The road not taken - -talks about crossroads in life. Couple of weeks ago, while I was impatiently waiting for the shuttle to be full, this particular poem popped out my mind. The shuttle where I was in was, parked just in front of Accenture building in Mckinley. I was looking around, waiting for familiar-faces-maybe that might pass by. Then a though came, “what if I accepted the offer…what if I am one of them?” and more questions followed.

Crossroads moments in life are inevitable. I encountered mine after College wherein I have to choose the company where I can establish my career and future. When stuck at a crossroad in life, it seems really hard to make a stand and decide. Just like what Robert Frost states in his poem, we could not travel both, and once we choose the path to take we can never come back. Funny how I can very much relate with the last stanza, true enough I traveled the one less traveled by because of the fact that almost everyone who graduated from my school are now working in Accenture. But honestly Accenture is one of my biggest "what ifs" in life. What if I was there, what would my life be like? What if I signed the contract…who will I meet, who will my friends be, uhm a lovelife perhaps? Ay joke pala yung last. :))

*Random Fact* Two of my biggest "what ifs" in life are Accenture and St. Scho but that's another story to tell, maybe in my next blog post. Or maybe not. *just because I'm lazzzyyy* :))
